My aunt’s friend quit working for the magazine industry to get a job with this non-profit. “Puppies Behind Bars trains inmates to raise puppies to become service dogs for the disabled and explosive detection canines for law enforcement.”
Watching their videos might just make you cry. One inmate says something along the lines of “This is the first time I’ve touched an animal since being in prison. After 20 years here, I feel like a human again.”
To me, this shows the truth behind Sri Sri’s words that “behind every cuplrit is a victim crying for help.” Not only a prisoner, but anyone who’s hurt us or hurting others is truly a beautiful loving person deep inside. That side of them is just covered up by layers of stress, trauma, ignorance, etc. It’s up to us, as a world, as individuals, in all our creativity and compassion, to bring back the love in people, to bring out our enlightened sides.
One Love,
Daniel
